FAQ

Each question and answer is written for website design, but the pricing and contract information also pertains to graphics, logos and photography.

Q. What does a website cost?
A. Every client has different needs, and I custom design each website. The cost of the project depends on the how large the site will be, how much graphics work it will need, and whether or not any programming beyond xhtml and css is necessary.
If you have a budget already in mind, I can easily tell you what kind of website you can get with that budget. If you don't have a budget, but have an idea of what you want, I can give you an estimate on what your goals and vision will cost.
A small website, with a few static pages can cost anywhere from $500-$1,000, whereas a large website with a lot of graphics, content and pages can cost anywhere from $1,000-$5,000. I'm happy to give you a free estimate and with a copy of my contract.

Q. How long will it take to create the website?
A. That depends on the size of the website, how much graphics work is needed, and your own schedule for providing feedback and content.

Q. Once I've hired you, what do I need to do?
A. You will provide the text (copy) for the website, and any graphics and photos you want on the website. If you do not have a logo, I can design one for you at an additional cost. As explained in the contract, I ask for half of the cost of the project before I begin work.

Q. Do we need to meet before we start the project?
A. That is up to you, but usually a meeting isn't necessary. Most of the projects I've worked on have been done over email very quickly and efficiently.

Q. How will search engines find my website?
A. Different search engines use different methods of determining how highly ranked your website will display in their results. Meta keywords, description and the website title are used by the different search engines, and I can advise you on the best methods for achieving the best possible results.

Q. Who owns the website once it is done?
A. You do. I will put all of the files on your web host, including the files I created to make any custom graphics. I do like to show off my skills, and will request permission to put screen shots of the project on my portfolio. I'm happy to link to your website if you'll display a melo design credit and link back to my website.

Q. Are you hiring or accepting internships?
A. No, I am not hiring or accepting internships. I design websites and graphics on a freelance basis.
